Keyed Alike Locks

What's the deal with keyed alike container padlocks I hear you ask?! I hope to explain a little more in this blog below.

If you have multiple containers that you and your team need to access, then it might make sense to have one key that opens all of the containers. This reduces the time & hassle of managing multiple different keys, and saves costs if you have lots of team members who all need keys for each container.

That's where opting for a set of keyed alike padlocks wins.

We offer a number of container padlocks keyed alike; the CISA 285 66, CISA 285 75, and the Squire WS75 being the most popular.

With your first order, simply make sure you select the "keyed alike" option. It add's a little bit extra to the cost of each lock, as our workshop team have to take them apart and rebuild them to suit a matching key.

If you choose "Key Registration Card", we will also provide your with a card that includes the lock pinning sequence. This allows you to order more matching container padlocks & keys in future, as and when required.

Keyed alike locks are normally suited to a small number of containers (0-10), and a small number of users (0-50). As it is still important to consider how many keys are in circulation with security in mind.

If you have a larger number of containers and users, then it may be worth considering a set of master keyed locks. This allows you to set certain levels of access for different individuals and roles. For example, a building manager may have a master key that opens all locks, while a client will only have access to their padlock and a common gate lock.

I'll be writing more about master keyed container padlocks soon.
